QR codes that do not expire

A QR code is not a link to a service. It is a pattern of squares that spells out a string of text. When that string is your own URL, the code keeps working for exactly as long as your URL does — there is nothing in between to switch off, meter, or shut down.

Some generators put a hosted redirect between the printed code and your destination. That service can stop responding or restrict a link when a trial ends. A raw QR record avoids that dependency, but the destination website still has to remain available.

A raw QR record encodes the destination URL itself. A scan hands that URL straight to the phone with no ČITTAM server in the path, which is why these records are unmetered on every plan — and why they keep resolving whether or not you ever pay us.

A hosted unlisted short link gives a long URL a shorter address to encode. Static hosted links use credits on any plan. They continue resolving after a plan lapses. To stop a specific link, ask us to disable it; abuse enforcement may also block it. The destination website must also remain available. Dynamic QR links require an active Starter or Pro plan to create or change; a plan lapse leaves their last destination in place.
